Welcome to the World of the Sailing Vessel Caroline
The Caroline is a 2003 model 19 foot West Wight Potter
Sailboat hailing from Mathews, Virginia USA. The Caroline
has a dark blue hull with white decking, and her sails are striped
blue and white. She sails the waters of the Piankatank River and the
Chesapeake Bay in Virginia.
No photos of the Caroline are available yet, but we hope
to take a few this season and add them to this site. Until then, we
have included some photos of her sister vessels. The photo to the
far right looks very similar to the Caroline.
As you can see, the West Wight Potter is a great family boat.
Caroline Includes Great Features for Sailing the
Chesapeake :
West Wight Potters like the Caroline were originally
designed to sail in the shallow waters around England's Isle of
Wight. Drawing only 8" with the daggerboard up and with a flush,
beachable bottom, she can go almost anywhere, including places that
deep-draft sailors can only dream about. Other great features
include:
- Large cabin that can sleep 4 comfortably (no, that's
not a typo)
- Cooktop, a sink with a fresh water fawcet, and a port-a-potty
- Roomy, self bailing cockpit with a kick-up beaching rudder
- Reliable Honda 5 HP 4-cycle outboard.

Sail Away
... |
 |

Have you ever wanted to just get on a boat and sail away? I mean,
really sail away. Just keep going, with no return schedule, no where
you have to be two weeks from Thursday. Just to go. And go. 'I
wonder what's in that cove?' you think, or 'Let's visit that town
over there.' The world is a completely different place when you
actually stop to notice it. Caroline is all about noticing.
And being.
